Product Description
The Generator Current Transformer is used to measure the electrical current flowing through the generator windings. By stepping down the current to a manageable level, CTs provide accurate measurements that can be used for various purposes, such as energy metering, power quality analysis, and monitoring the generator's performance. The primary winding connects in series with the generator circuit, enabling current flow measurement. Attributes: • Provide precise and accurate measurement of electrical currents • Offers electrical isolation between the primary and secondary circuit • Enhance safety by preventing high currents from reaching measuring or protection devices • Detects the unbalanced currents resulting from ground faults • Prevents overloading or underloading of the generator Applications: This Generator Current Transformer is placed in the electronic panel to accurately measure the electrical current flowing through the generator circuit and it is an integral part of the generator's protective relay system. They help detect abnormal current conditions, such as overcurrent, short circuits, and ground faults. When an abnormal current is detected, the CT sends a proportional signal to the protective relays, initiating protective actions, such as tripping circuit breakers or isolating the generator from the electrical grid.
